"I have visited the Warren County Historical Society whenever I have visited Des Moines, over the past few years. My mother's father, and my father's mother both grew up in Warren County. I have a few generations of ancestors from Warren County. The people operating this organization are highly dedicated and capable volunteers. They have been most generous to me in giving me their time, and full access to their extensive trove of historical resources and references. They are open on Thursdays from 9-4, and Saturdays from 9-Noon.. They are well worth visiting, and worthwhile donating to."

The Warren County Historical Society building contains a historical & genealogical library and two floors of historical exhibits The adjacent Historical Village has a log cabin, Mt.Hope Country School, Pioneer Church, South River Quaker Meeting House, George Washington Carver Museum, Large Machinery Building, and a General Store."
