"If you're ever driving by, it is a nice spot to pull off and get some amazing views of the surrounding areas. The tower itself said it was closed for maintenance. Although there were no barriers stopping anyone from climbing it. I suggest caution if you have younger children. They have restrooms but were locked. This is also January with lots of snow. This is probably a warm weather thing, but no snow stops me from sightseeing."
"Nice spot for a stretch when driving WB on I-680. It seemed like it was staffed during that workday. Restroom was clean. Overlook was cool, even though it was spoiled by the haze that day."

"This is a cool little rest area to stop at, but I must have been a little late because the bathrooms were closed when I got there on the afternoon I visited. The scenic lookout tower offers great views that give you the perspective that Iowa isn't all flat cornfields, like I had mistakenly thought."
"If you're headed west on I-880 this fall, take a minute and check out this overlook. I was a bit early, but these trees are about to change and give a glorious display! There is a rest stop a couple of miles before it, but you can safely skip it because the overlook has nice clean restrooms."
