"We always try to buy local, and Cooks has always given us very good service and fair deals on appliances. Their store is simple and functional, and to answer the negative comments: sometimes the Weimaraners are at the store, and if you're not used to big dogs the dogs can be intimidating. Yes, used appliances are placed outside the front of the store ready for the metal recycler to pick up. Yes, the north side of the store appears cluttered and disorganized with boxes and TV's, however the appliance display area is laid out neatly with many models to peruse. Their customer service is honest and sensible - they will find out what your needs are and advise against buying a more expensive model if you don't need it. The few times we have called them for advice or repairs, they are unfailingly honest about diagnosing the problem and what is the fix - the most simple and least expensive route. And... if you need huge cardboard boxes for school or projects, Cooks will help you out!!"

"BIZARRELY rude customer service. Like, truly mind-blowing. I simply requested a quote be emailed for 2 appliances that I am interested in purchasing (for use in the Creston area) and was met with a bizarre level of hostility due to my current address being in Omaha, NE. For reference: I never requested delivery, rather Will Call. I was recommended to this place by a customer of mine, who I will be recommending not to use this place again as they clearly don't need anyones business ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What I said: "If you could please also email a quote over on this model, we would greatly appreciate it!" Their response: "Omaha is out of our delivery area. We are located in Creston Iowa. Is there a reason you are contacting us. You can order it much closer to home.""

"Any 5 star review on this business is a friend of the family. We have used the 2 times out of necessity, but will never again. It is a nasty negative environment. Nothing good at all to say about them. There is a uhaul rental 12 miles east in Afton, great people and service try there!"

"Very bad costumer service. The man (father) was very rude and making nasty comments. We came in later to only have a women (daughter) speaking the same way. We went elsewhere for our services. The place is very unorganized and messy. A growling barking dog greeted us right inside the doorway. My mother-in-law had inhome service done earlier this year to only have it fall apart later that day. For a uhual we were told to be there at 8. They then charged it to 9. Then changed it to 10. Only leaving us to find a different uhual location later. We drove from Winterset and had to waste the morning driving around town. To only find a different location for a truck. Try Afton!!!"
