Willoway Complex

Willoway Complex, located at 409 Ash Street in Sutherland, Iowa, is a unique institution offering a range of services for seniors aged 55 and above. This complex features 17 independent living apartments, a fitness center, indoor swimming pool and spa, meeting room, and hosts Dinner Date Meals for seniors. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors through independent living, physical fitness, and relaxation.

The name "Willoway" was chosen through a community contest, with the winning contestant combining the phrases "Where there's a will, there's a way." This name symbolizes the determination and motivation that went into creating this complex from the former Sutherland Consolidated School building.

The Willoway Complex has become a hub for the community, offering a range of amenities and services. The building itself has a rich history, with echoes of past students and teachers still present in its corridors. The complex was transformed through the efforts of passionate volunteers and businesses, preserving the historic school building while adapting it to serve the needs of the community.

In addition to the independent living apartments and fitness facilities, Willoway Complex offers a variety of services for residents and the community, including a library, salon, mail service, and weekly grocery delivery. The common areas provide spaces for socializing and activities, while the outdoor deck is perfect for enjoying time with family and friends.

Donations and memorials are welcomed and used for ongoing projects within the Willoway Facility. The community's support has been instrumental in the success and growth of the complex, ensuring that seniors in Sutherland have access to quality living and wellness services.
