"Cheap, but smelly, saw a bug in the shower, and hotel does not provide shampoo/conditioner. Also this hotel allows long term tennants so it feels a bit like a sketchy appartment complex. Still it was very affordable, comfortable enough, and I would probably stay here again."
"My girlfriend and I stayed there last summer our lease was up on our apartment and decided to go to this motel as they do weekly rates so we could look for a place over in that area or in Ankeny minutes away. It was a straight nightmare... Roaches, bed bugs, drug addicts, prostitues having trucks pull up in the back, mexicans drinking in the parking lot, weird smells in the hallway like ppl doing drugs in their room, filthy carpet, management only cleans and exchanges towels once a week sometimes not at all. Management is also rude and disrespectful to customers... The wifi is terrible, I could go on. The old saying is true you get what you pay for. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else even if it's more expensive... Especially if you have kids because there is some real shady people that work and live there..."
"The place is a disgrace to the hotel/motel industry. It was obviously bought for cheap by a "family" of idiots who don't know what they're doing or how to run a hotel/motel. They promise WiFi and it only works (somewhat) if you're close to the front desk. I checked in here for a week and it's winter time and these idiots have plywood duck taped in the windows with AC units still in the windows. We checked into a freezing cold room, had to wait 3 hours for them to figure out how to program a key for our door which wouldn't lock when we closed it, we cranked the thermostat on the wall all the way to 90 degrees and it took the heating system 7 hours just to get the room to 75 degrees, the fridge had a small separate freezer compartment that had an ice pack in it to keep it cold (which was broken open and melted leaving the freezer filled with water, and they folded a towel up in there?) there were roaches in the room, it stunk of God knows what, and all of the staff at this place are straight up a**holes. They have no sense of customer service and no sense of respect for the people paying them money. The health department should be notified of this place and it should be shut down, though the place looks condemned already... 100% Disgusting, which is sad because with the right owners and care this old building would make a beautiful hotel."
"This place honestly does not even deserve 1 star. I made arrangements to stay with someone while working the Iowa State Fair, & this is what she booked. I stayed here 11 nights and I have no clue how I made it through. Upon arrival plenty of sketchy people loitered the parking lot which is something that we learned was normal there. We were constantly killing roaches everywhere, the walls & the bathroom especially. With it being infested with roaches no food could even be left out which was a huge pain with 4 girls in 1 room and a mini "mini fridge." Laundry was a huge pain in the ass until about 7 days of being there, they finally understood we were working and could only wash our clothes after we were off. People actually live in this motel & they don't exactly seem like the best people. I would have to agree that there is probably a lot of drug use going on in this facility. Honestly, I didn't even feel comfortable taking the trash out to the dumpster after dark because you know they only come and clean the rooms maybe once a week. We couldn't even get ice from the ice machine. I could go on but take it from me, go on down the road to the Motel 6 or the Rodeway Inn, either are much more suitable."
"fter a 24 hour drive and barely getting any sleep driving up from the West Coast we stumbled upon the Extend a Suites, the lady at the desk was very nice and helpful, it was around 12 am. She told me that we needed to look at the room because they did not offer refunds. The first room I looked at looked clean however the TV was on and one of three beds wasn't made properly. So I checked out another room and it appeared clean and would've been sufficient. I booked for four nights and within 5 minutes of paying and realizing we had to leave the 4th night I booked I called the front desk and told them that I had made a mistake and only needed 3 nights as we would be leaving the 4th day. She informed me that there were no refunds and I had assumed in my sleep deprived state that only converted satisfaction not that they would charge me for a night that I couldn't stay if I wanted to. I was told to talk to the manager Monday as she could offer a refund. I talked to the manager and she said it was out of her hands and she couldn't offer a refund if she wanted to. Aside from the fact that they wouldn't refund my money for the night we couldn't stay the place is disgusting. Carpets are filthy, it looks like they have never vacuumed the hall ways, or entrance ways. We had a lamp in our room where the power cord was cut, roach traps everywhere, stained towels, peeling paint, the deadbolt didn't lock, the safety lock fell off the wall, the other unit had a refrigerator and this one didn't so they brought us one which was disgusting... I was told not to use the ice machine as roaches were in there. The place is so run down and with little work it could actually be a decent place it just appears that management / three owners don't care. I would rather break the bank than stay here ever again!"
