"Had a leak in my unit and the apartment responded before I even noticed it. Edgar the Maintenance guy and his partner (i missed his name) were very kind and helpful and did everything they could to solve the problem. God bless their souls they were so awesome to have over. The apartment has done their part to take care of me in every way possible. I genuinely am excited to renew my lease for a second year, i love living here, I love the management, and im very thankful I found this place."
"My husband and I moved here at 5055 side a couple of months back, and it has turned out to be a nightmare. Initially, we faced issues such as no hot water, which thankfully got resolved a week ago. However, the current problem is the absence of cold water – the only temperature available is boiling hot, making showering nearly impossible. We have to drive a friend's place everyday just to shower comfortably. The water is so hot that I have to wear gloves so I can wash the dishes. While I appreciate the management's generosity in allowing homeless individuals to stay around the complex, especially during the holidays, it has created safety concerns. The mailroom, in particular, feels unsafe, and I find myself needing company to access it. Looking forward to the end of our lease so we can move on from this place. If you are looking to move here, please don’t, there are other apartments around the area. Also watch them reply to this review with their typical generic, copy-and-paste response. They aren’t really going to address these issues."
"You don’t forget to write a reminder to pay the rent, but you haven’t been able to fix the damage in our house for several months!!!! At first, we spent several months figuring out whether we would have heating, since we didn’t have it last winter. Then, when the cold weather came, we barely managed to get our heating repaired. Over the past three months, we have left requests several times, on the website and in the office, that our doors are broken. The status of the application is “completed”, but no one came to fix the doors!!!! When we ask the manager in the office “why is this so?” she just answers “I don’t know” Something is constantly happening in our house: they are repairing something in the next apartment, cockroaches immediately crawl into our house and it smells like paint or something rotten. Every week we have no water, sometimes cold, sometimes hot, sometimes not at all. No one warns you in advance (although payment notices are sent in advance). Any question we ask in the office, we hear one answer - I DON’T KNOW!!!! This is without any comments about the condition of the apartment inside. Everything is broken and peeling. We are looking forward to when the contract ends and we leave this terrible place!"
"I have been living on the 5055 side for some time now, here’s some issues I encounter: The inconsistency in water temperature has been an ongoing problem. Currently, I am experiencing water that is excessively hot with no cold water available. This has made basic chores, such as washing dishes, quite challenging. A timely resolution to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, there appears to be an ongoing problem with trash disposal, leading to scattered debris/furniture like a couch throughout the complex. This not only affects the overall appearance but also raises concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. I've also observed an increase in homeless people seeking shelter in the mailroom and parking lot. This situation poses safety concerns for residents. Addressing this issue and finding a suitable solution would contribute to a more secure living environment. The covered parking doesn’t have a light at night, making it not only inconvenient but also a potential safety hazard, especially during the evening."
"Long story short, go with a different complex. This area has a lot of apartment landlord vultures simply looking to fill the units. Before signing your lease, make it a point to check out the unit. The pictures don't equate to reality. The neighborhood does have an insect problem, so you will have to request pest control treat your place just about every week initially. A lot of the units experience a lack of hot water, so be sure to check all the switches and things immediately after move-in, since you will be charged anyway for utility usage. I was also quoted a rent amount when applying, but was up-selled a "better" unit for $100 more when the property didn't want to hold the unit, so be aware of that also. Finally, the rent amount doesn't include the endless fees they tag on. You end up coming out of pocket an extra $150+ and you MUST pay the full amount or face a 7-day eviction. Side Complaints: The apartment does also close off one side of the resident gates, likely to deter the homeless and direct traffic one way. All this really does is cause an annoyance for tenants who may walk since there's no pedestrian doorways, and it's just one more unnecessary thing to remember walking out the door. The pool that's not on the main side is constantly out of service, even though pool maintenance is a fee that comes out of the tenant's pocket. There's also a unit that deals drugs and their customers will be layed out on the ground in front of vacant units. They live in the pool bathroom too."
