"Dante's view was our first stop in Death Valley, which was an awesome way to view the park. Bring binoculars for a closer look across. With Manly Lake formed in the Badwater Basin only a few months ago after 10000 years dry its a great time to visit! Suggest hiking sticks and good shoes/boots if you plan to walk off the paved area, as the rocky trail is a bit loose in spots. Definitely worth the view if you can make it out and back on the trail. Cold and windy up here in the morning....dress in layers for this park and bring a LOT of water."
"Once you pay your park entrance fee at the unmanned kiosk, take the first left. There will be a a sign to Dantes View. The drive off the main road is approximately 14 miles or about 20 minutes pending on how fast you are driving. There are some nice hair pin turns as you approach the top. The drive is worth the beautiful view. There is a stop one level below, which has a single washroom. There was plenty of parking when we were there mid-morning in late March. Mind the cooler temperatures due to the altitude."
"I've read reviews saying just how full it can get on weekends, but parking lot gets half full on a weekday. Mind you, it only holds about 30 to 40 cars, so that's not saying much. However, people do agree the view is worth the hassle, and it most definitely is! I practically saw everything I drove in my 3 day stay there from this view point! I do recommend hiking towards the opposite side of Dantes peak though. You get to see the view towards Ashton from there, as opposed to the negligible amount of elevation you gain from hiking to the peak. Was an amazing way to end my trip, and will definitely always make a stop through here every time I visit!"
"Very nice spot for sunset… and to gain perspective on this massive valley! The last mile of the road leading up to Dante’s is very steep. Nothing our modern vehicles can’t handle but be wary in larger vehicles or when towing."
"It was as much fun to see the salt-flats from this mountain-top as it was to actually walk on them. Looking down on the salt-flats was like looking at a satellite photo - stunningly beautiful... Not to mention, there was a cool breeze, a welcome change from the heat of the flats. I visited the park right after it reopened, post hurricane, and even though most of the park was closed, the parts that were open were a visual feast, one of the coolest hot places I've ever visited."
