"Always accessible, mostly quiet. Fishing, boating, walking trails, picnic. Venue rental next to swimming beach. Large camping area-modern to tent. You might even get to play Bingo, watch a movie, or use the loading ramp for your kayak. Google wanted an update....there's water in the lake now. Playground in camping area. Modern to nicer pit restrooms in all area except top picnic area. Dogs can walk trails with you. Lots of picnic space. Two sheltered areas for rent but when not rented still can be used in picnic area. The modern one has indoor kitchen space that does need to be rented. Both have outdoor grills and picnic tables. The modern one has wheelchair accessible tables and modern restrooms."
"I love this place but the only reason I give a 3 star is due to me very scares of water. But we had so much fun hanging out on there birthday weekend. It's cheap peaceful and if u get the right spot you see the sky so amazing at night. Everyone has been friendly around the camp site."
"Viking lake is a good place for RV camping. You get a nice space with a picnic table, fire pit, and RV charging area. The lake is also beautiful and there’s plenty of well-groomed hiking trails around the lake. The bathroom/shower faculties are a little worn and could use an update, but I guess that’s to be expected at a rustic camp site. The experience was enjoyable overall I would recommend camping here."
"Nice tent camping, most of the spots are flat. Clean shower house with flush toilets and hot! water. Trails are usually well maintained. Only downfall, the train tracks are right there. Trains come thru all night long, I didn't sleep much at all."
"Decent state park, for hiking there is a short ~1 mile trail by the campground. It is a well groomed trail thru the trees, lots of osage orange (hedge apple) trees. It was an interpretive trail with numbered markers but we never saw anything that told us what the numbers meant. Not much for trailhead sineage either. Also a long trail around the lake. The campground was nice. Spots had decent spacing. They have a some full hookup and some buddy sites as well. I never recommend camping by the full hookup sites as your campsite is right next to your neighbors sewer. The lake is very low right now (maybe being drained?) I didnt see any signs."
