"This shop was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our three-day trip to Des Moines. As it turns out - confirmed by the very helpful, friendly lady at this antique store - most shops in town are closed on Sundays and Mondays. She, too, found this both odd and disappointing. That said, I’m glad we stumbled upon the Raccoon Forks Trading Company on our mostly fruitless search for anything interesting to do downtown on a Sunday. I’m probably biased for my love of antique stores, but even still, it is objectively fun to visit. So much stuff to look at! I could easily kill a couple of hours browsing. Prices seemed fair - from larger furniture pieces to small trinkets and antique books. I wound up purchasing an early 1900s jewelry box for $25, which I’m very happy with."
"I had such a good time browsing and finding a couple of nice beer glasses...so I brought my wife back to have an excellent lunch in their cafe...and left with a fantastic vintage sign. Will definitely shop here again! And, I heard that they are adding books! Matt was extremely helpful and friendly."
