"I camped at the River campground in August 2023. this campground is along the banks of the middle Raccoon River. The campground manager Geoff and Director of land stewardship Carissa were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed a concert by the acoustic band Sturtz at a beautifully restored barn, literally across the road from my campsite. Food and beverages were available at the concert. There is a beautiful bluff with trails overlooking the river and campground. Canoe and kayak rentals are available in season. The campground is equestrian friendly, it has tieout areas along with the campsites. The Pondhopper trail passes the campground and scenic ponds as well as historic abandoned cabins. I look forward to camping here again next season."
