"Very interesting, it was so great to be able to go in the train cars and look around. The caboose was the best for me brought back great childhood memories. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Many items from a by gone era when trains rulled long-distance travel. Well worth a visit when in the area."

"The Rails West Railroad Museum is awesome! They have the coolest model train that's setup to look like Council Bluffs of yesteryear. This museum is set up in the historic Rock Island Depot. This structure has been in this spot since 1899. There's an old steam engine on the premises along with a caboose and other equipment that has been used over the last 120+ years. It's an excellent place!"

"Even though it was not open when we stopped by, the outdoor section is easy to view without a guide and the location is next to live track; you may see some yard action if you're lucky."
