Ali'i Ocean Tours

"We had a magical afternoon during a private excursion with Ali'i Ocean Tours! Captain Cindy and crew member Ali were absolutely wonderful. We hoped to see whales (as we had seen in Alaska last summer), but unfortunately we got skunked. We weren't upset about that though, because we knew we were visiting right at the end of the Hawaii whale season. We did, however, see 3 massive pods of dolphin during our afternoon! Incredible. We also arrived at Captain Cook to snorkel (the inspiration for the "Drop Off" in Finding Nemo) and were delighted to have the place to ourselves. Captain Cindy said that NEVER happens! The crew were wonderful getting us outfitted for snorkeling and even getting our 6 year old son out there, too. They were also extremely informative and showed us many sights along the way. We would happily book with them again on our next trip!"

"This is my 4th snorkeling tour with Erin from Ali’i Ocean Tours. I love being out in a safe boat on the water while staying on the Big Island. The boat has choice of sitting in shade or sun, and there is a head (bathroom) on board. Captain Cindy handles the boat with safety first in mind always. The local knowledge from both of them about our natural environment, the animals we see and the amazing Hawaiian geography along the way from Honokohau Harbor to Kealakekua Bay and back again adds to your adventure. The snorkeling spot is the best in the world. One of the things I really look forward to are THE SANDWICHES! Amazing and fresh with chips and sweets! I highly recommend Ali’i Ocean Tours."

"We had an incredible whale watching tour today with Captain McKenzie & Ally! They were the best of hosts on the water and educated us all on marine life and Hawaiian culture. They were also wonderful with our 3 young children aboard. While we weren’t sure if we would see whales, as it was the tail end of the whale season here in Hawaii, we hit the jackpot on our tour today! So much activity - humpbacks breaching, spinner dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, manta rays, and eagle rays. Both Ally and McKenzie had an incredible eye for marine life and everyone on the boat left grinning from ear to ear! Thanks for spending the afternoon with us! This tour does not disappoint!! (I should also mention that we had to reschedule, as our original booking had to be rescheduled due to rough seas. I was appreciative of the cancellation as I would not have enjoyed the experience while feeling sea sick. Ali’i was very accommodating to rebook at a time when conditions would be better)"

"Captain and crew were lots of fun. The whales performed a spectacular show for us. I felt so lucky to see them so close and numerous times. Dolphins were also fun. Snorkeling the coral reef and viewing fish at Captain Cook did not disappoint! Just beautiful. Food was delicious. Thanks again for a great time."

"Had a great time on the Dolphin and Snorkeling trip while visiting Kona. The crew were awesome, warm and accommodating. Snacks and food kept us hydrated and happy, and the stories and history given were super interesting too. Would happily go again."
