As we ventured out, he shared insights about the volcanos and mountains on the island, Hawaiian history and mythology. Captain G was extremely respectful of the humpback whales and was a wealth of knowledge about them as well as other species of whales and ocean life. "We had a great day on the water with the delightful Captain G . We did a whale watch vs the whale watch /snorkel combo as winter conditions didn’t lend itself to comfortable snorkeling. It’s good in winter to have some flexibility in scheduling as the high surf warnings dissipating made it a better fit to actually go the day after we initially booked , trust Cap G on this, the next day was gorgeous & perfect! Whales, dolphins & a barracuda chasing a flying fish in the air! The private tour is a fabulous option! He offers Hawaiian history along with his respect of the ocean and its beautiful inhabitants."
