Vale Apartments & Townhomes 9401 Lemmon Drive, Reno, NV 89506

"I'd avoid this place unless you're absolutely desperate. Not sure if this place is under new management and office staff or if they need new management and office staff. Multiple red flags and I never even reached the point of filling out an application. *1st red flag -They Showed Up 20 Minutes Late For 1st Appointment - After setting an appointment on their site for a guided tour of an apartment, receiving a confirmation email that showed my time and date of appointment, and stated someone from the office would contact me asap, the office never contacted me and when I arrived at the complex for the appointment they didn't even know about it... Not only did they have no idea an appointment had been made on their website, the leasing office is in Stead at Sierra Sage Apartments that they also manage, so I waited 20 minutes after the scheduled time for someone to show up. When she arrived, she was kind, professional, very sweet and showed me a townhouse because no apartments were available at the time. (FYI, the townhouses are the run down buildings furthest from Lemmon Drive up the road a little bit on Limber Pine. NO AC but she offered a maintenance man to install a swamp cooler if I provided one. The apartments are the newer buildings at the corner of Limber Pine and Lemmon Drive. These apparently do have AC.) She did go above and beyond in offering to take me to the Sierra Sage complex and showed me a unit there as well; however, I was very interested in the Lemmon Valley location. We planned another viewing for 3 weeks later when I was told one of the Lemmon Valley Vale apartments became available. They ended up messing that up too. See 3rd red flag... *2nd red flag - Didn't Know Answers To Normal Questions - She didn't know answers to what I thought were very basic questions when looking at apartments. Examples: How much is the pet deposit? How much is pet rent? Can I carry over my current internet service? Are tenants allowed to decorate the patio area for Halloween, Christmas, etc.? She said she'd get back to me with answers. After not hearing back for 10 days, I sent a follow up email with my questions. *3rd red flag - Cancelled 2nd Appointment For Apartment Viewing After Appointment Start Time - 3 weeks later on the morning of my 2nd scheduled appointment, 20 minutes before the appointment, the same gal called me to confirm and she said she'd see me soon. Great news for me as I was ready to move in right away after viewing the apartment! Once I got there, while driving around looking for her, I got a call from someone else in her office saying the unit is actually not available to view and that the lady I was meeting was at the unit I'd already seen 3 weeks prior... So once again, my lunch hour was messed up and I didn't see an apartment that I'd had an appointment for. *4th red flag - Dismissive of Their Mistakes & Confused With My Frustration - When I asked why the appointment was cancelled beyond last minute and where the miscommunication or confusion was, I expected to hear that the tenant was unexpectedly still in the unit, or that it was still being cleaned, or something that was understandable or made some sort of sense. I was basically told the original gal made a mistake, pulled that date out of the air and the unit available to see was the one I'd already seen. She wasn't the least bit apologetic about any of it. She was dismissive of the fact that on both occasions they messed up the appointments, then she was confused with why I didn't want to reschedule with them and had no further interest in any of their properties... She offered to reschedule me later that week or during the weekend. I declined since they'd already messed up 2 appointments, didn't take accountability for their mistakes, and had no assurances that it wouldn't happen again. I wondered if this is just how apartment complexes are run now but I'm actively looking for another place since this happened last week and have only had good experiences with other apartment complexes in the area. :)"
