"We visited March 2024. Beautiful but fully gated, you can't drive up at all anywhere, so you have to park at bottom and hike. The hike is 6 ish miles round trip, so too far with our kids. Wish we could have driven up, as you used to be able to."
"Amazing hike! We had a great time. We took a lot of pictures, rested along the way and on the summit quite a bit, and came back to our car in about 5 hours. There is very less shade, so be sure to bring sunscreen and lots of water. In the beginning, for around 1.5 miles, it's a plain boring road. But then you come across a gate, after which the views are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Green valleys, and the view from the summit of the ocean and mountains are all worth it. The slope gets very steep towards the end."
"Nice hike. Gravel at first. At the first sign you can turn right to have a more natural trail. Wear good shoes. It’s an upward climb the entire time to the top. Views are great Saw goats, cows, and lots of birds in this lovely grassland"
"Fun hike up the jello mold. Pretty steep. Trail is in good shape for the most part. The views are simply spectacular. If you’re up for a hike it’s pretty great. Many wild animals on the trial. There’s an abandoned building part way up. I believe it to be an old ranger station or ranch house. Worth checking out if you have the time"
