Nā Pali Coast State Wilderness Park
About the Business
Nā Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, located in Hawaii, United States, is a stunning park and tourist attraction known for its rugged cliffs and beautiful coastline. The park features deep valleys, waterfalls, and streams, as well as ancient Hawaiian terraces where taro was once cultivated. After being closed for over a year due to severe flooding, the park has reopened with new management strategies in place. Visitors can access the park and the famous Kalalau Trail through Hāʻena State Park, with advanced reservations now required for entry. Due to the threat of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death fungus, visitors are urged to take precautions to protect the native trees. Camping permits for Nāpali Coast are in high demand and often sell out in advance, so visitors are advised to plan accordingly. The only legal way to access the shore areas in the park is by boat, making for a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

"Gorgeous hiking. The trails are rocky and steep but the views are incredible. We hiked to Hanakapi'ai Falls and back. We took the 7am shuttle in which was perfect, we were able to complete much of the hike while it was still cool and the sun hadn't come out yet. I think we caught the 2pm shuttle out, so it took us about 6 hours in the park but that included some time spent at the falls taking a break. The last stretch from the beach back to the shuttle was the worst part as it was during the heat of the day and there isn't as much shade on that part of the trail. Highly recommend!"
"Highlight of the Kauai trip! We took a helicopter ride and while the whole island is gorgeous, Nā Pali is just something else and it humbles you to your core."
"We took a catamaran tour along the Nā Pali Coast and it proved to be a splurge well worth it. While Hawaii tends to be on the pricier side, the experience offered by this coastal journey was nothing short of extraordinary. The views along the rugged cliffs of the Nā Pali Coast were simply breathtaking, showcasing the raw and untouched beauty of Kauai's shoreline. An added bonus to the tour was the close encounters with dolphins and whales, which added a magical dimension to an already enchanting experience. Despite the expense, the memories created against the backdrop of the Nā Pali Coast make it a must-do for anyone seeking a truly awe-inspiring adventure in Kauai."
"One of the most beautiful places in the world. The coast line is simply magical. Na Pali means “many cliffs”, and the name could not be more accurate. Definitely a place to add to your bucket list. It is not easily accessible - it can be only seen by boat or by air. Unfortunately, neither of these options are cheap, however they are absolutely worth it. We did a sailing trip out to see the coast and it was an incredible experience."
"This place left me speechless. It's stunningly beautiful. The trails are for experienced hikers only. Make sure to do your homework and plan ahead (permit needed). Also bring enough water and food."
