"Therre was a feeling of poignancy as I saw a contrast between nature and its astounding beauty against the struggles that some of our fellow citizens endure on a daily basis. Imagine the impact/difference it would make if the millions poured into beautifying parks could be used to alleviate the struggles, pain, and suffering of many."
"excellent and unique sunset point with a wharf that runs over tide pools and corals. watch out for vandals and homeless around dusk, not quite suitable for very young kids since the water is unpredictable. Traffic can be a bit vexing."
"Another beautiful beach in Hawaii. Saw some surfers today."
"I always enjoy Ma’Ili Beach park. There is always parking. I’ve never had a problem finding an empty picnic table to sit at to watch a sunset. Rest rooms are normally passable as to what is expected at a public beach-just bring your own supplies. Outdoor shower has always worked. 76 station across the street is a good place to grab a soft drink. Great park for snorkeling and watching sun sets."
"Stopped by this park after Pu’u O Hulu hike since it was the closest public rest room. We thought it would be a place to hang out and enjoy the beach. Not a great place for families. Within minutes of arriving we observed 2 “deals” in parking lot. There is a homeless camp visible from the park area. There were a couple of people who appeared homeless walking around doing weird things. We tried to mind our own business. As time when on it got worse. Went to change in the wash house but there were people sleeping in the bathroom. One individual, who appeared to be a large female, keep going into both the male and female bathrooms to hang out with the people sleeping in the wash house. She did this repeatedly. Eventual 5-8 people starting hanging around the wash house and front parking area as if they were waiting for “something”, they were trying to be inconspicuous…but the clearly had no purpose. We felt uncomfortable the whole time we were there and decided to leave early. One previous comment said it best, “Be aware of your surroundings.”"
