"Fire."
"Beautiful historic site just about 50 min from Kona and only $5 entrance fee. Spacious parking lot and guide history presentations are the first things that i liked but that's nothing compared to the hales (hut) that are set up as though someone lives there. Pick into one of the hales and you'll find yourself in the traditional hawaiian home with one of the employee of the site tending the fire just like the old days."
"We recently a week at the Honaunau Beach vacation rental, Hale O Kekuewa. Our hosts, Zadoc and Yong, made us feel like we were family. Upon our arrival, there was a fruit basket and a supply of Yong’s baked goods for our enjoyment. The duplex was very well equipped, clean, and quiet. We had dinner most evenings on the lanai, which offered beautiful views of the bay and sunsets. The duplex is literally next-door to Pu'uhonoa o Honaunau National Park which was beautiful and interesting. The snorkeling (2-steps) was just steps away and was awesome… lots of fish, coral, and even had a few days swimming the with Spinner dolphins that frequent the bay. Do bring reef shoes to cross the lava however! We will definitely return to Hale O Kekuewa on our next Big Island vacation."
