"Richard Lee Lopez was the most amazing host! Not only is his rental absolutely gorgeous and perfectly located on the ocean in Hana but he thoroughly explained the area and gave us lists and advise on what to do. Im more grateful to him and his tips on Hana than I can relay. And it is truly spectacular there. A huge natural green lot with a absolutely stunning highly functional home including all amenities and breathtaking views of the meadow in front and the ocean and right next to Venus pools and Hamoa beach. Thankyou Lee for everything! I cant wait to stay again."
"I had a wonderful experience staying here! It was in a perfect location along the road to Hana and there were a lot of beautiful places within a close drive to check out. The house is beautiful and provides a great place to come after a busy day. Lee was kind enough to provide me with an overview of the area, provide recommendations, and check on me throughout my stay. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would definitely stay again!"
"My husband and I along with two other couples stayed at this home for 5 nights end of June into July 2017. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! The property and home were beautiful and spacious. The third bedroom is in the lanai, where we stayed, so the sun would come through in the mornings, but we were jet lagged so we actually enjoyed watching the sunrise from the bed. The owner, Lee, met with us prior to our arrival to his home to discuss all the details and adventures we should take. He was very kind, thorough, and excited for us. We loved being able to walk around the property, eat coconuts/bananas, and the best part was walking 2 minutes to the Venus Pools and this hidden black sand beach. We served a big breakfast for friends one morning and the kitchen provided us with everything we needed, except olive oil, but we purchased that at the general store. We followed rules about keeping food away because of the ants. We saw a few ants, but they weren't too bad. There were definitely Geckos in the house, but we didn't mind because they eat the bugs. We did have some encounters with bugs, but we understood that Hana is in a rainforest so it's almost out of anyone's control. The house did not have any ceiling fans, but thankfully the owner provided the house with three floor fans that were definitely a necessity for someone from the south who is used to A/C at all times. This house is great for a group of people. We really had so much fun!! Oh, the best part was the outdoor shower that had hot water. All the guys showered here everyday and you can't see it from the house windows. I had access to the washer/dryer which was needed after being in Hawaii for 5 days already. Overall, I give the place 5 stars because it was everything we needed. Yes, it got hot during the day and there were some bugs, but overall it was perfect and I had an amazing time! Thank you, Lee"
"I have to start with the drive from the airport to Hana because it is an experience of a lifetime if you don't believe me go on youtube and watch it. Do all your grocery shopping before you leave the city because prices in Hana are very high, $10 for a gallon of milk and $5 for regular gas and the list goes on. Plan on 2.5 to 3 hours for the drive on dry roads and daytime otherwise it could be much longer. The experience of staying in a rainforest is well worth some of the little inconveniences you may encounter along the way, having the sounds of the forest put you to sleep at night is just awesome. Fresh fruit off of the trees in the yard is nothing like you can experience anywhere else. If you are afraid of small critters like geckos this might not be the place for you but it's totally normal in this part of the world. The house is built one floor off the ground and you get a view of the ocean across the road in front of the house and you get the cool Tradewinds that blow all the time. The location is ideal being just 3 miles south of town and 7 miles north of the National Park. I suggest you read up on the area before you visit so you can plan accordingly because there is so much to see and do in nature and don't plan on night life because it doesn't exist. I would plan on staying no less than a week because we were there 11 days and could have stayed the rest of our lives. Lee is the perfect host and meets you close to the airport to give you all the information you will need during your stay. The house has everything you need except the food, with cable TV and wifi which comes in handy to make phone calls with your cell phone Verizon being the best provider in the area and there is a local phone in the house. I've posted some of the sights that we viewed and we have hundreds more and I suggest putting this on your bucket list."
"We expected an Hawaiian experience in a beautiful rainforest setting. What we did not expect was the total invasion of large ants, in the bathtub, showers, dishwasher, etc. Out of the six of us, 4 had bites all over - could have been the ants, spiders,? Probably not mosquitos, as the bites were huge swellings. The dishwasher and oven appliances worked sporadically; the owner just suggested shutting the dishwasher tighter (which of course, we'd already tried), Locals told us the house had been infested with ants for over 10 years. Don't plan to use the lanai beds for adults; the beds on the lanai were extremely hard - barely comfortable enough for children. The setting is beautiful, but overgrown with barely a view of the ocean. The abandoned "honeymoon" hales were a little disconcerting. Don't recommend."
