"We have rented from 3 different agencies on island over a few years. Carvill Sotheby's was the most dishonorable and sleazy group of people. When we moved in to the condo, the building manager made a comment about "being careful with these people". And what an understatement that turned out to be! Our agent Holly (who's OWN husband Ron has cleverly left a glowing review here) used every tactic to drag out our move-out so they could charge extra rent. Normally you pay a $250 cleaning fee to leave, but HER people charge $500 for a 900sqft 2 bed, 2 bath unit!!! And on top of that a $150 carpet cleaning fee. Holly refused to do a final walk-thru with us after the cleaning, so she could do her own, days later. She "found" hair in random. places and delayed the move dates out so she could keep charging rent. The CRAZIEST thing of all; 1 of the baths was under construction for leaking pipes, for which they also promised to compensate us as we had only 1 bathroom our last month. That bath was STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION when we moved out but Holly still demanded top cleaning standards, although the condo would be covered in cement dust starting the day after we cleaned and moved. This has been the most stressful experience and I am hoping to help others avoid working with these people. Go with ANYONE else. There are some very nice ones. (pm me if you want recs)"
