"This was a very nice rental duplex. We never saw/heard the neighbors except their car coming/going. It was very quiet and very clean. Our only issue was the cable TV not working. There is no A/C, which we didn't need but is good to know. The hotel staff were very nice. I would stay here again."
"This place far exceeded my expectations. I could not believe how big it was (2 bedrooms each with a king bed) and that it came with a full, well-stocked kitchen. It is pretty remote, but is clean with warm showers and safe. Very close to the volcano national park (less than 10 min)."
"Hey, do you overthink every decision? Have you been researching every available place on the big island only to not book anything and then repeat the process several times because you're looking for the place that's just right? Stop what you're doing and book this place. We stayed at three separate locations across Oahu and the big island and 5th street Ohana was my favorite place. The owner is top notch. We stayed here in the middle of October 2022. I would write more, but the longer you read this, the less time you are going to be booking this place. I'm copying this to post a review to tripadvisor, too, so if you see this there, it's not because I'm a bot. I'm just some dude from Ohio that spent his last evening in Hawaii at 5th street Ohana and Volcanoes NP and it was a great closer. Thank you."
"If you are taking a family and planning a day hiking through Volcano National Park...this place is perfect! Excellent correspondence. No Frills, but perfect for exactly what is needed. It was awesome because it's in a jungle. My family was in awe listening to all of the life at night!!"
"We really enjoyed our stay here. Overall I would recommend staying here but I think there should be some expectation management. I had a hard time rating this at 5 stars. It's certainly not bad, but I wouldn't say I absolutely loved it. Pros: - Under 10 minutes to Volcano National Park - King bed and a queen with a pull out sofa. - Fully stocked house. Has cleaning supplies, paper towels, and even the smaller things like coffee filters. - Plenty of exterior lighting to see your car if you need to access it in the dark. - Washer and dryer on site. It's outside, but hey at least it's available. Cons: - No central heat or fireplace. There were 3 space heaters but honestly I didn't feel entirely comfortable running them all the time, especially since one of them had excessive heat damage to it. Yikes! - No dishwasher. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to be able to run the dishes on high heat to give peace of mind that they are clean from the previous tenants usage. Recommendation to the owners: Consider the cons listed, in addition consider some dehumidifiers as some of the furniture has gathered a bit of a smell over time. We misplaced a remote control and when looking under and behind furniture we found dirt and debris that has clearly collected over a lengthy period of time."
