"My husband and I ate there recently because it was highly recommended and reviews were mostly very positive. Our experience was less than anticipated. Servers were efficient and smiled at us. Ambiance- well there is none. But that’s not the issue. The food was disappointing. The pork chop was gristly and my fish was overcooked. Side dishes of lima beans and potato salad lacked interest with no other options. Prices are very good but the food left something to be desired. Also they are no longer serving breakfast."

"I haven't stayed at this hotel, but enjoy the delicious local food in the restaurant. I especially love to eat their famous pork chops and homemade hamberger steaks. The hotel will soon close but i heard the restaurant will remain open. If you want some good local grinds when up mauka, you gotta stop by Managos."

"Always a reliable and relaxing treat to stay here. The staff is warm and welcomes you like family, and the comfy-food breakfast at the restaurant is something I look forward to. Highly recommended. Rooms are simple and don't have heat/cooling but they're clean, reliable, and best bang-for-the-buck option this side of the Big Island. Love that they respect and provide fair and affordable accommodations where others (even Airbnbs) try to price gauge. Hope they thrive and never change their value-driven operation for years to come."

"What a wonderful place to come have a meal with family!!! Every aspect was 5 star From the moment we called to make a reservation! The receptionist was very helpful and kind, the vintage atmosphere was so cool and the staff was so welcoming. Don't worry if you are starving when you arrive because the service is FAST! They make sure you have your side dishes right away and your main course shortly after. Simple easy menu to order from and everything we tried was amazing. Can't believe it took me so long to get down and check this place out but whether you live here or are visiting, having a meal at the Manago Hotel is a MUST! I will def be sending people here from now on."

"The restaurant serves traditional Hawaiian food, which is not for everyone. If you don't know what to order: get the pork chops with gravy. Which are quite good. Kinda like a Japanese and mid West picnic food. It's not for me...I'm the hamburger type of guy and they have good cheeseburgers for the high end American fast food culture connoisseurs like me ;)."
