"What a wonderful adventure we had. We stayed for 3 nights in Mercury's very quiet and clean rental space. The outdoor kitchen is super functional if you like to cook . There is enough hiking and swimming in a 2 mile radius to satisfy seasoned explorers. There are tons of fruit stands and a great local grocery only 9 miles away but you probably want to grab everything you need for you're stay as once you get there you won't ever want to leave!"
"If you can book this place just do it. Don't delay, just book it. We were so lucky to spend two nights here after someone canceled last minute. They were the best two nights of our two week Hawaii vacation. Such a unique and wonderful spot. It is somewhere between glamping and a studio apartment. Sam gave us a wonderful welcome and a quick tour. We really enjoyed dinners on the patio with the outdoor kitchen watching the sunset. Sam stocks the fridge with eggs and juice and bagels intended for breakfast but we chose to have the yogurt and local fresh fruit we bought at the store and fruit stands for breakfast. We cooked the eggs on the outdoor stove each night for dinner, along with some local sweet potatoes, onions, bok choy and Spam. There were so many stars to see at night. We enjoyed feeding the horses mangos and bananas that grew on the farm. The bed was very comfortable and the place was extremely clean. We did keep a small fan Sam provided going at night and we never got hot. We actually got cold one night. Our only regret was we could not spend more time here."
"Plenty, Love, and Aloha! In the hearts of Sammie and Mercury Blue! Mother and daughter team, of Ala 'aina Ocean view, breakfast in bed."
"A lovely, remote place to stay. The property is lusch with many different kinds of plants. This was a unique place for me as far as the owner's successful and tireless approach to a careful and meticulous mission of leaving a minimal footprint for the environment. Electricity is provided via solar panels. I found this comforting and intriguing. Guests are asked to refrain from using hair dryers, using a fan at night on low, etc. I thought this would be difficult but it was not. All the windows open up to allow a gentle ocean breeze to come and go. The deck is outfitted with plenty of seating and the outdoor kitchen. The kitchen area itself is under a canopy, and initially looked somewhat basic. It is not. It is cleverly set up and has all the utensils, cookware, and serving ware you could ever need. The fridge was stocked with plenty of condiments, a local soda, and eggs, among other things. I particularly enjoyed cooking with cast iron. Off the deck is what looks like a koi pond, but I think it's more of a frog sanctuary. The toads occasionally sing a tranquil lullaby. Everywhere you look on this property has some ornate piece of art that is impressive and tastefully placed. I also really enjoyed seeing mango trees here. There are a couple of horses next door who can be found along the fence sometimes, and they are happy to help with any mango surplus you might face. I will never forget my stay here. It was remarkable to say the least. The location is pretty far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and not too far from all the greatness that Hana has to offer. If I was forced to make a criticism, I may suggest that the mattress was not up to snuff for me. It's quite likely that this is merely my preference, as I am known in my circles for buying some insanely high end bedding at all my properties. Regardless, I persevered and couldn't be more grateful for the experience of staying here. Thank you to Ms Mercury and Mom for a memorable stay!"
"Wow! My husband and I arrived after hurricane Ana. This place was a serene haven. Beautiful views. Lovely gently sloping hillsides. Spectacular ocean views. Very primitive surroundings. And yet sustainable.inviting and comfortable Simple fare in the fridge. Worth the stay for a few days of intense relaxation. mahalo."
