"We just got back from a week long stay at Aulani. Our kids had an absolute blast! They loved the kids pool with the play structure and the water slides. Aulani is 100% on our list of places to revisit. We really enjoyed the fact that the Disney aspect wasn't over done and in your face nonstop. Yes, there are characters that walk around the pool once or twice a day and there are lines for photos with characters. But outside of that and the kids activity center, if you didn't know it was a Disney resort, I don't think you would catch on unless you saw a character. It was expensive to stay and eat here. If we could do it over again, the play would be to do a Costco trip and stock up on liquor, breakfast and lunch items. That would have saved us an easy $600 - $700 during our stay. The service was pretty good through our stay with the exception of checkout. I'm guessing that has more to do with the fact that it was Spring Break and checkout and check-in were swamped at the same time. The staff seemed a little on edge when we checked out, especially the bellhop. When I called for bellhop service to our room, I was told "they would get there when they get there". Our kids are already asking when we can go back."
"Disney brought a whole new level of beauty and serenity to my life! This resort is so beautiful and their locals are the nicest people I have ever met! This is a place you need to mark off your bucket list! I stayed in the Ewa tower, 1 bedroom Villa with an Ocean View, room 882 and it was the most perfectest room ever! I can’t say enough about Aulani. You just have to go see it for yourself and you will be speechless ♥️ visit dates 3/8/24 - 3/12/24"
"The resort felt like it was there to make money. I know that's the objective but it doesn't have to feel that way. Also found the staffing to be inadequate as it seemed hard to find someone when I needed to ask directions, etc. Overall the experience could have been better for the kids even though they did enjoy themselves. I feel the resort could come up with some better attractions. Maybe it's time for a renovation for the rooms and the activities."
"Just visited and walked around a bit. A beautiful resort with little depictions of the Disney scattered about. Surprisingly, the resort seems to honor the Hawaii heritage more than their animated characters, which is actually refreshing. Beautiful lobby with two shops. They seem a bit small, but nicely appointed with the usual Disney trinkets and fan wear. They had some very nice clothes in the higher end shop- not a large selection, but beautiful. Overall, it is a hotel resort. Once there, they charge a premium for the convenience of not leaving the resort. The beach views are descent. The lagoon is not naturally formed, so it has some marks of construction and appears slightly artificial, but is still nice. It is in walking distance to an ABC store and some other shops and resorts. Golf nearby. It really is massive, but the shopping area is tiny compared to the size of the resorts. If you go here, money is not an issue for you. Premium price for a very nice resort in a Beautiful location."
"The rooms and location were nice enough, our hide-a-bed was broken. The staff was very friendly. However, absolutely nothing is included. Self parking...$40.00 a day, $50 per adult for a crappy omelet at the character breakfast and $30 for kids waffles. They forced 19% gratuity, and I only saw the waiter once. This is all after $40,000 for three suites for one week. I should not have been surprised about any of this, but Disney's greed is just astounding. Save your money and rent a house on the beach. You will likely have a much better experience."
