"Better than expected and the BEST chicken I have ever had. My only regret was forgetting to take a picture of the unbelievable chicken and waffles dish we had!! That one dish fed two of us! I will be back!!! We did not get the bourbon syrup, because we don't drink and the wonderful server was honest with us and said it did taste like bourbon, so we had their regular syrup, which was soooooo good!"

The chicken and waffles with bourbon maple syrup is a must to order. They even have a gluten-free version, which is excellent. And if you are extra hungry, get the fried green tomato BLT as an app. I highly recommend Yardburd."

"Several super kind and helpful servers, and excellent food! All were great at offering menu recommendations and answering our questions. We split two apps and a “whole bird” between the 4 of us and it was plenty. The chicken meat was tender, the skin crispy, and melting in your mouth. The seasoning on the chicken and the watermelon that comes with it were great, and the waffle had great texture. The Parmesan potatoes were my favourite appetizer. The individual items are a little expensive, but something like the whole bird split is reasonable. The presentation of the whole bird was really cool too — it arrived in a wire basket in the shape of a chicken. The restaurant was really dark, but still cozy, and not very loud."

"I am not gluten-free. In fact, I love me some gluten. But that gluten free fried chicken is the best fried chicken I've ever had (gluten free or not). Not kidding. Eyes rolling to the back of my head, good. Almost a spiritual moment. I kid you not, this place is legit with all their food. The staff was absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and knowledgeable to myself and my wife (who is gluten free)"

"Dined-in for dinner, table for two with no reservation on a late Wednesday night and we were seated right away. Ordered green goddess salad, little gem salad, chicken and waffles, field pea succotash, and crispy fingerling potatoes. Salads were fresh and filling and the chicken and waffles were so good I didn’t get a chance to take a photo before we dug in. The bourbon maple syrup was flavorful, although a tad overpowering. They have a certain way of frying the chicken that makes it crispy and tender, not greasy or dry. The waffles were perfect, I wish we could have ordered an extra waffle. Fingerling potatoes and field peas were delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try more sides. Interior is welcoming and comfortable, a mild southern style theme. We had a great time with our server, who was informative, friendly, and patient. We left full, happy customers."
