Timberline Motel

"The management was really kind and hospitable. When we asked for ice, they delivered it right to our room. The rooms were well furnished with nice clean sheets and a perfect retreat after finishing the John Muir Trail. We highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Some of the cheapest rates in town or nearby."

"This is a dump. I have to say, as a longtime reviewer, I don't understand how this location gets a 4-star rating. I have no pictures because I wasn't there long enough to take my camera an take any. In fact I didn't bring anything in the room because I was concerned about the location. I came, I saw, I left. We were greeted by a bag of garbage at the front door. And a broken wooden stand on the sidewalk. I have no words except, I wouldn't stay here. In fact I didn't stay here, I left here."

"This place is a gem. Built in the 60's and renovated in 1998 July 1st. The rooms are very comfortable and everything was clean and work perfectly. I will stay here again when I am in the area. Thanks"

"For a small, independent motel, the Timberline is better than most. Accommodating staff, great price. The room is a good size and in good shape. Bath fixtures are pretty new, carpet is in good shape, appliances clean & newer, and paint in good shape. The bed could be replaced as the springs creak when you sit on it, and the purple & white bed cover coordinates with nothing else and seems dated. The location was really quiet and off the highway. Small facility—only 8 rooms or so, and no pets allowed. No breakfast, and the coffee service was a single pack of regular, small cups with no lids, and cheap sugar & powder creamer. Room was fresh & clean, and we had a quick & comfortable enough stay."

"It does have a mini fridge and microwave, which is great. Otherwise not a very good motel. A/C barely works, place is kind of dingy, big gap under my door that has duct tape on it but that still doesn't prevent wind and leaves from blowing in. Management are a bit difficult to deal with. Can hear all noise from the parking lot. Next time I'll stay in bishop."
