"I have camped at all four campgrounds along the canyon here. While Moraine fills up quickest, due to how close it is to Tioga Rd. (thus, Yosemite), followed by Lee Vining campground, Aspen (and Big Bend, just a big down the road) are deeper into the forest here, more quiet, and arguably more beautiful. Out of the four, Aspen is my personal favorite, followed by Big Bend. Aspen camground sits in as you may guess a grove of aspen trees, with other pine trees giving shade to ever spot. The river is never far by, and unless you're going on a busy summer weekend, you'll likely find a spot here without trouble. If it is too busy, continue on to Big Bend."
"Incredible campground. Good privacy and great location surrounded by mountains, we were able to pitch our tent right by a waterfall!! Beautiful river flows through the campground, a lot to see an Explore. Please note the entrance to Yosemite national park via tioga pass is only 20 min away, but ***does not open until Memorial Day weekend***!!!! Also: no service and no running water. Would still recommend and I plan on coming back here."
"Wonderful campground alongside Lee Vining Creek. We were there mid-July and thanks to a wet winter, the roar of the creek rushing down from the mountains was something to behold! The view of the canyon walls on both sides is beautiful. The campground is located off of Tioga Pass Road. Water available at the entrance, portapotties, no internet or cellular service."
"I really like this little campground. It is nestled just off of Highway 120 (Tioga Pass) and above 395 near Lee Vining. Host on site in peak season. We arrived just before the campground was due to close for winter in early October. It can be crowded and even full to capacity but for us this trip it was less than 1/4 full so we had plenty of sites to chose from. We chose a nice site with a lot of shade and right up next to the rushing stream. Beautiful Aspen's all around and places to walk or take a hike if you like. Well below Highway 120 so we didn't hear any road noise at all. Outhouses and a few pit toilets, tables, bear locker and fire pits."
"Very Nice Campground, The Kids had lots of fun fishing and playing all day long. The Camp hosts were extremely polite and helpful. The restrooms were always very clean. The camp hosts firewood resulted in a fun family night around the fire. Beautiful campground!"
