"I came to joe with an open mind, a friend had recommended him but I did not expect to be blown away in the ways I was. we walked into the studio and the energy was welcoming and calming I immediately felt at home. Joe, is gentle and kind and was so enthusiastic about my ideas and designing. but for my actual tattoo appointment I was so impressed. The studio was lit with candles and joe brought me tea and we carefully placed the stencils in collaboration of where I wanted them. during the actual tattoo experience I felt so calm, heart centered and as if deep healing energy was present. Joe was gentle and kind and throughout the whole experience I was able to enter a deep meditation. This tattoo experience will be with me forever, for whenever I look at this beautiful tattoo I will be reminded how special a moment getting it was and my heart feel so full of gratitude for that. "To start with the studio it self is immaculate and beautiful not to mention it’s the most unique and inspiring tattoo shop I’ve ever seen. "First Impressions One of the first things you notice when walking into Raven studio is the beautiful wood decor (hand crafted by the Joe, one of the shop owners). You can tell from the onset that the space was meticulously thought out - with the client - artist interaction as the main consideration. Later, after talking with Joe, I learned he has big ambitions for the store to make it the best tattoo experience possible. The Artists I met Joe and RJ and found them to be really down to earth individuals. Joe was the artist I had come to see and he definitely made this experience a great one. He’s one of the shop owners and you can tell he takes great pride in his shop and the overall client experience. He was considerate and patient when finding a placement for the tattoo (upper chest) and wanted to ensure I was confident and happy with the final position. The Tattoo Experience Hands down the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. I’ve had work done in 4 different countries with 6 different artists - Joe being the 7th. I can’t express enough how thoughtful this experience was, and different in the best of ways. I reached out to Joe about two weeks before I landed in Hawaii and gave him a vague idea - an image that expressed the fear of time. Joe took it on, and created something beautiful and drafted a piece I’m extremely grateful for. Joe has an extremely light touch and the tattoo was the least painful one I’ve ever had (I was nervous about the collar bone area, but honestly nearly napped as he went at it). He works with headphones on, which I appreciated, as it let me zone out and relax. Overall the tattoo took about 4 hours- but the time seemed to fly by. I walked away with a piece I’m proud of and appreciative of the art I’m taking home.
