"I had come back to Kaua’i for some alone time and to get a tattoo that I had been thinking about for some time. When the my original tattoo artist had to cancel on me I was a little discouraged. Thankfully I reached out to a friend on the island and he recommended Shilo. Shilo was able to fit me before I left because of a cancellation. A bit nervous at first; but then I took a look at his work and was excited to get in to see him. It really felt like it was meant to be. I gave Shilo a little direction on what I was looking for but told him to be creative when giving me something to symbolize my Hawaiian roots on the Island. What he came up with was amazing. I love it so much and so does my family. He added in a Hawaiian sling to represent one of boys’ love for fishing with his sling. Atmosphere was relaxing and felt comfortable like being with my Ohana. I will be back to Kaua’i and will be back to see Shilo. Mahalo for your time and talent my friend."

"I can’t say enough about Rise Above Ink! First of all…their almost five star rating is greatly deserved and if you’re wanting a tattoo…they do walk-ins, but can be hard to get due to their popularity…so definitely call ahead to book your appointment. Shiloh runs the shop, with his stellar crew (Vayda, and I’m sorry, didn’t get the two other artists names that were there when I went. Also, for the improved life of your tattoo, swimming, heavy sun exposure, etc is not recommended until after your tattoo heals…so plan your tattoo appt accordingly. The shop is clean, well organized, relaxing and most artists take all forms of payment (but be sure to ask). Check them out to see if they meet your needs and to say “aloha”."
