"This place gets a lot of bad review but I think it’s because it’s not at the airport and people are tired from their flight and want to start their vacation. But our experience with Matt C was really well. I moved my family from San Francisco to Hawaii. He made my pick up and drop off easy. The car wasn’t the best but it got us from point a to point b. Our pick up was very fast and our drop off was even faster. It just goes to show if you give good attitude towards people they will give you the same energy if your acting like a di*k then expect the same energy. Overall car was 3.8/5 service is 5/5."

"Very poor customer service Matt was very unprofessional in regards to handling my booking I reserved my rental car for 5 days and he only did it for 4 days and charged me for insurance I didn’t need would not let me take the car without purchasing insurance I have my own insurance full coverage for car rentals never had a problem with any other company so instead of paying 169.00 I ended up paying 290.00 plus the car only had a quarter tank of gas. The car was filthy we could not even see out the front window had to clean it the alarm for going over 25 miles kept going off then the service light came on There located outside of the airport. This was a very bad experience and I will never recommend it to anyone also I will never be renting from this company again.very disappointed"

"ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE RENTAL CAR COMPANY. The car I received had nasty stained seats. I paid for this rental through Priceline, yet I was charged a surcharge tax of $6 per day. Returning the car was a disaster. A1 hours are 8am to 8pm, they do not have an after hour drop-off process. I was told I couldn’t drop the car outside of normal hours because of their bad neighborhood. “Someone will vandalize our car” I was told. However, Oz told us he would come in early to receive the car, but he did not keep his words. To add to my misery, A1 charged $69 to my credit card. I don’t recommend this company, please avoid at all costs. Stick with the bigger brand rental companies."

"A1- RENT A CAR is also known as Economy Rent a Car. All the paperwork I got from them had A1- RENT A CAR on it, and no mention of Economy Rent a Car, but on Priceline the name is Economy Rent a Car. I can see why all the low ratings... The rental facility is not at the airport; its offsite, a few miles away and one needs to take a shuttle to get there. Not a big deal. This is probably the most rundown venue where I've rented a car. I made a reservation through Priceline. Economy Rent a Car had some sort of promotion and was the cheapest option available at the time. According to my Priceline itinerary I was supposed to pay $190.87. Somehow they ended up charging me $ $195.89. Not a big deal...I'm not going to fuss over $5. The car itself was not cleaned thoroughly, there was a bunch of sand in trunk and in the front as well. The Tire pressure indicators were malfunctioning and were always on. The staff told me not to worry about it, and to keep an eye on the actual tires...not off to a good start. The fuel tank was also only half full, I was told to bring it back the same way. I took pictures and a video just in case they try to pass on any fees to me. My problem began after I returned the car. The day after I returned the car, I got charged $69.85 for no reason. I waited until the weekend was over to see if the charge would be cleared or refunded thinking it might have been some deposit hold or accidental charge. I ended up calling them to inquire about the $69.85 charge. The lady on the other end couldn't find the $69.85 transaction and told me to call my Credit Card and dispute the charge. ummm...what?! So, I had to call my Credit Card company and dispute the charge. Since this was an unauthorized transaction, the fraud department had to step in and take over the case. Now I had to get an entirely new Card with a different number since this was considered a fraudulent transaction instead of a dispute. I think I'm gonna pass on using this company again..."

"If I could leave no star at all I would. Poor customer service. High mileage vehicle. Poor running condition. Interior seats looks faded and nasty along with the seatbelts. Wait time for me was nearly 2 hours. They’ll have you sign in inside then make you wait outside with your luggage in the heat. Only one person was working at the front desk upon arrival. They don’t accept the Expedia collision coverage even though it’s already paid for. They will only offer you their insurance with another fee. FYI booking with this company is NON REFUNDABLE. While my 2 hour wait I didn’t see at the poor and negative reviews on this company. Vehicle I got was an older high mileage car. Upon leaving and soon as I got onto the freeway I did notice something sounding mechanical wrong and also the way the vehicle drives. Second day couple of warning lights came on. I called and they told me to not to worry about the lights and to only let them know if the vehicle “breaks down”. I believe this company should be take off third party websites to protect customers. These vehicle are in poor running condition and older which I believe isn’t safe as a rental as it can ruin your trip/vacation."
