For me, the secret is "zero drop" meaning the heel and toe are at the same level, but still with a lot of cushioning and arch support. Right now am buying rainproof soft hiking boots with zero drop and Kailey has spent 30 min adjusting the arches so they are perfect - like tailor-made. "Friday, I tried calling all local area luggage stores at 5AM this morning for an RFID money pouch for a trip to Europe on Sunday. Uyeda in University Plaza was the only store on Oahu that said they carried what I needed and had it in stock. Uyeda is a local family run shoe store that has been in business for 50+ years. The store was hopping with a number of clientele that had been shopping there since childhood. The owner of the shop was speaking with a woman who remembered the father of the current owner. Uyeda's was the only local shoe store when she was a child. The owner recalled being five years old and wanting to take over her father's shoe business. I spoke with Arlene about my need before zipping over there to check out their selection of travel bags. The personnel of Uyeda are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I ended up choosing a couple of items to have backups for carrying money around Europe. I am thankful for their knowledge of what travelers need when abroad to help protect their valuables.
