"Very impressed by friendly and warm wait staff as well as the quality of the food! Loved the delicious and crispy pizza crust and fresh ingredients in the Cesar salad. Because we shared the dishes (2 older couples who were touring the island all day and did not want to face the crowds on Kailua)we decided on a light bite, but would have loved to try the other dishes if we were hungrier... next year!"
"My mother and I finally got to have lunch here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. We made lunch reservations at 12:45pm and was immediately welcomed with a warm smile. We heard good things about their pasta and pizza so we ordered (1) Margherita pizza with pepperoni, (1) 1/2 order of Fresco Verde Pasta, (1) 1/2 order of Bolognese and a side of scallops. It was amazing! Mom's Fresco Verde was so light and garlicky. The spinach added freshes to the dish and was full of flavor! You need to get it with seared scallops! My Bolognese pasta was had perfectly bouncy noodles but was mediocre. Unfortunately it lacked salt or spice. Even a tad more cheese would've helped it. The pizza was so good! It's a thin crust pizza and it wasn't oily at all. The pepperoni added to the Margherita pizza. Overall, we enjoyed dining here and will back very very soon."
"A perfect restaurant for locals and tourists who want to get away from the resorts! Staff was friendly, fun and attentive. Food was nicely presented and had LOADS of flavor. Prices are excellent (compared to the exorbitant resort prices!) and all in all, a wonderful experience!"
"I just are here for the first time and had a cup of cream of mushroom soup and a 10” cheese pizza. The soup was wonderfully flavored and the pizza was great with a crisp crust that didn’t flop over when I pulled a slice off the pan. My server was incredibly helpful and seemed happy to be there. I’ll definitely eat here again!"
"Don De Luca's is hands down the best Italian restaurant on the Big Island. The service is wonderful, the food is tasty and comes to two portion sizes (half and full), and they, of course, have a bar service. The Chicken Marsala was amazing—the chicken was cooked to perfection. The soup of the day (creamed spinach) was nice, but could have had a stronger flavor to it. The brown Sunday comes with your choice of ice cream, and sure hits the sport!"
