"During my recent visit to Zippy's Kaneohe, I embarked on a culinary journey that showcased the restaurant's diverse menu and attentive service. Eager to experience the flavors of the Hawaiian cuisine, I initially planned to indulge in a classic breakfast featuring waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, accompanied by a steaming cup of hot chocolate. However, I was informed that both the hot chocolate and strawberries with whipped cream were unavailable at the time. Though initially disappointed, the accommodating staff quickly provided alternative breakfast options and suggested some enticing lunch specials. Opting for a change of plans, I decided to explore the lunch offerings instead. I settled on a clubhouse sandwich paired with fries and Portuguese soup. This hearty combination promised to satisfy my appetite and provide a taste of the local flavors. As I waited for my meal, I couldn't help but admire the inviting ambiance of Zippy's Kaneohe. The restaurant exuded a cozy vibe, with comfortable seating arrangements and tasteful decor. The staff continued to impress with their attentive service, ensuring that I felt welcomed and valued as a customer. When my order arrived, I was delighted by the presentation and aroma of the food. The clubhouse sandwich was a towering masterpiece, featuring layers of roasted turkey, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, and creamy mayonnaise, all sandwiched between slices of toasted bread. The accompanying fries were golden and crispy, perfectly complementing the savory flavors of the sandwich. The Portuguese soup, a local favorite known for its rich and flavorful broth, exceeded my expectations. Packed with tender chunks of meat, hearty vegetables, and fragrant spices, it was a comforting delight that warmed both body and soul. With each bite, I savored the harmonious blend of textures and flavors, from the crunchy bacon to the tender turkey and the hearty broth of the soup. The meal was a true celebration of Hawaiian cuisine, showcasing the diverse culinary influences that make it so unique. Throughout the dining experience, the exemplary service continued to shine. The staff were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that my meal was enjoyable from start to finish. Despite the initial hiccup with the unavailable breakfast items, Zippy's Kaneohe proved to be a culinary gem, offering delicious food and top-notch service that left a lasting impression. In conclusion, my experience at Zippy's Kaneohe was a memorable one. From the warm ambiance to the delectable food and attentive service, it was a true delight for the senses. Whether you're craving a classic breakfast or a flavorful lunch, Zippy's Kaneohe is sure to deliver a dining experience that exceeds expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in the flavors of Hawaii."
"We went to Zippy's today 2-23-24. We were greeted by a sassy young lady in the takeout side of the Kaneohe Zippy's. Then I placed my order, the person who took my order got it wrong. We waited forever for our hamburgers. I saw our order sitting out on the counter for several minutes before they called us to pick it up. Finally got our order, fries were pale, limp and cold. One of our hamburgers was missing from our order. So I had to wait another few minutes for my burger. The hamburger came pretty quickly. But the rest of my food got cold, it was probably cold to begin with, since it was sitting on the counter for a while. There were like 4-5 people behind the counter but things were chaotic some people working some not. I usually go to the dinning room where the service is 100 times better and with less people working too. Not going back until the dinning room reopens. Oh, and no bathrooms to top it off!!!!! The takeout side needs supervision."
"Tonight, everything was great until the service girl at the take out food counter gave me attitude when I simply asked nicely, " did you call my number?" She replied, "I didn't call your number so it's obviously NOT ready." IF SHE DOESN'T LIKE HER JOB, QUIT! She was nice to a few people she handed food out to whom looked very local. She wasn't nice to everyone. Yes it's busy, though with her attitude she should be fired. I paid good money to eat at this location. I worked hard for food I can get elsewhere though I like Zippy's. This girl talked like she had a cop on her shoulder. She needs to be fired or reprimanded properly. Normally don't eat at take out side, but the dine-in side was already closed at 10 pm on a Saturday night, January 13, 2024."
"Super friendly people here, and a steady stream of patrons. We ordered the Moco Loco — a bed of rice with a burger, smothered in gravy topped with eggs, and a side of Mac salad. Plate was su huge with food I may not have to eat the rest of the day. We also ordered a danish with coffee, the fried noodles and the fried chicken plate. Yep… we are all full!!"
"Came here for a quick lunch before going to the sandbar after it was mentioned to us by our Uber driver. He said it’s not something to rave about, just a regional chain, but we thought it sounded cool! We thought it was interesting that this spot had half of a quick dining area and a sit-down area. The cashiers were super duper friendly. Saimin - This was inexpensive and quite filling! It had a good amount of noodles and the piping hot broth came separately. The fish cake and char siu were tasty. Since it seemed little, I added a chicken katsu. The cashier said she made sure to put it separately so the chicks stayed crispy. Chicken katsu - My stand-alone katsu was around $5-6 but turning it into its own combo meal with rice and mac salad is the way to go. My friend got 3 pieces for $12. We expected a dense, greasy fried food but it was actually very light and thin! It was a lot better than I expected. Its accompanying sauce is more sour than other katsu places I’ve tried. We were dying for vegetables at this point so I ate all the cabbage underneath lol. Korean fried chicken - This was delicious! The boneless pieces don’t come in medium-sized chunks. I liked their crunch. Loco moco - This was hot, flavorful, and honestly tasted better than some other places I’ve tried. The egg was fried perfectly. I wish I tried the oxtail soup but it’s pretty pricey. Zippy’s fulfilled our needs before our long boat trip!"
