"One of the best things about Allison Izu designs for me is that I don’t have to take the pants in for alteration. I also like the solid colors that make mixing and matching easier. In the beginning (see early photo), I stuck to one color (same color top and pants), but watching Allison’s videos, I now experiment with mixing colors with the tops, coverups and pants. I like having the showroom available to try on the new styles since some styles run larger than others, so I don’t take the same size for the different styles of tops and coverups."

"If you want to support local but still get something quality and chic in return, here you go. Allison Izu is a local designer specializing in clothing for every body type (not just tall skinny models). Her designs are made for comfort, but are elevated enough to wear to work - in the office or at home. The showroom is only open a couple days a week (usually Fridays and Saturdays). If you’re lucky enough to have the time to stop by on either of those days, you’ll know the hype is real. The shop is minimal and organized making it easy to want a piece in every color. Joggers, tanks, long sleeves, short sleeves, and cover ups with clean lines and breathable, easy to wear fabrics are suited perfectly for going from running around in humid Hawaii weather to the office or grocery store where the A/C is just a tad too cold. The staff is so helpful and friendly and often times, you’ll run into Allison herself putting the icing on the whole shopping experience. Parking is pretty plentiful. Sometimes you’ll need to circle once as Manoa Marketplace has a Longs Drugs and a Safeway."
