"In 2011 I purchased a home in Tahoe with an installed pellet stove. The stove didn't work and appeared to be installed improperly since the air intake line was missing. I went to South Y to ask them if they could service it. I was the only person in the store and the woman behind the counter was chatting on the phone with a girlfriend. She ignored me completely while I waited for 10 minutes. After she actually turned her back to me, I walked out. I called later and spoke to Rick on the phone. I explained my problem and asked for help. He stated that he had never even heard of my brand of pellet stove and had no idea where to get the parts or how to service it. In all his years of experience, he was surprised he had never even heard of the brand so I would have to look elsewhere for service. I called the person I bought the house from and obtained the paperwork on the stove. It was purchased from and installed by Rick from South Y fireplace in 2006. This business and the people running it are frauds in my opinion. I would not recommend that anyone do business with them for any reason."

"South Y went above and beyond to help fix blower on my Canada made gas fireplace. Blower was damaged by power surges. Owner connected me to manufacturer rep to buy blower, shipped to South Y, arranged installation, and at no charge to coordinate all this. Thanks for taking care of this customer from 10 years ago."
