"Awesome place to get some last minute gear if you’re hiking in the area. I needed to grab gaiters, gloves, and snowshoes after seeing the recent weather on Whitney and this store provided everything. The staff were extremely friendly and also provided me with the most recent weather reports allowing me to be prepared for my trip."
"We purchased spikes. Owner was very helpful and friendly. The spikes Worked great on our snowy hike. Recommend."
"A cute local version of REI at the Lone Peak hiking town. We managed to find a belt here for our last minute hiking shopping, and also bought a small bottle of oxygen, which is absolutely needed for me to climb Mt Whitney 99 switchbacks area. ($8.99 per oxygen bottle)"
"Great place to pick up some gear for your excursions out into the mountains. You can buy new gear, or you can rent gear. The staff are super chill and friendly and seem to know the stuff they carry."
"Our group of five, three sibs(mid to upper 50s), one nephew(31), and one niece(21), arrived at store July 14, after talking to John by phone earlier that week regarding crampon rentals and snow axes. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about alpine hiking gear and self care tips to make our go of Whitney in one day (July 15), a safe, satisfying and successful adventure. We picked up a few other essentials while browsing the store inventory. Hiking in high elevation is no joke. We’ve been preparing for months. The store employees each time we were there were helpful and welcoming. Tell John we cramponed up and took the chute down. Thank you!"
