"Jimmy Beans Wool is one of the most beautiful stores. I love all the little pockets of brands to explore. They use their product to their advantage and there are colors everywhere, organized in eye-pleasing palettes painted across the walls. There are room dividers made out of hanging yarn with felt balls and ribbon with glitter highlights. With the metal accents, it gives it a happy, bright, and cozy feel. I could have easily collapsed on the couch for the day. There were the brands I love with EVERY colorway on show. It was so fun to see colors I've not been able to see in person before. Then there were brands completely new to me. Since this was a business trip to a new place, the lively lady at the front desk gave me a mini tour and pointed out the yarns by local dyers and the yarn made from sheep raised in Tahoe itself! So I purchased from 2 local dyers and can't wait to turn them into a shawl or scarf! Though this isn't a standard store and also acts as a showroom, your shopping experience is slightly different. It actually reminds me of shopping in the 1900s at high end retailers. You select the display skein then the JBW team checks stock and goes to pull what you need. It makes it fun and you get to match and mix easily as you go around the store bc your arms aren't overly full. They also have a great online store and everyone I've spoken with online or in person has been kind, friendly, and great to work with. I'm so happy I was able to visit in person!"
