Reviews
"Our best meal in Vegas was at Otoro. We barely made it to this restaurant at 9:45pm and they close at 10pm but they welcomed us and still let us dine there. Our server was exceptional and explained the menu and portion sizes. We took advantage of the Wagyu steak cooked at the table on a hot rock. It was fresh and tasty. All of the food was so fresh and wonderful. The prices were some of the best we have seen in Vegas for sushi considering how nice the restaurant was (very high end decor and service). Wish we had found this restaurant sooner so we could eat there again before having to fly home. Hope they will remain since we heard that the Mirage was purchased by the Hard Rock International."
"Good Japanese restaurants are plentiful. Otoro is good, but not great. Its a beautifully designed restaurant with a high-end atmosphere and prime spot at the Mirage. DRINKS. The cocktail was nice and strong, not watered-down like most. ROBATA (Grill Skewers). We ordered top silrloin, scallops, octopus,Chilean seabass, mushrooms, shishito peppers and pork belly. While everything was tasty, the food was not hot (lukewarm.) I've been to robata grills elsewhere and most skewers were hot off the grill. This was our biggest disappointment. SUSHI. We ordered some nigiri: Uni, otoro (fatty tuna) and akami (lean tuna.) Nothing special. Unfortunately, my order of otoro was missed and i never got to try it. CRUDO. The hamachi (yellowtail) crudo was delicious. Crispy shallots, hibiscus ponzu, togarashi, and jalapeno. Yummy. BEST OF ALL: "The Rock." Marinated thinly sliced sirloin, where you self-cook on a 500° smoothed cooking stone/rock. It was fun and tasty. Finally, some hot food! The restaurant was dark. These are thenbest photos that my phonencould take."
"The food was excellent here but they split our party into 2 separate tables that were very far a part from each other. That was a little difficult as we were all hoping to eat together. Not sure what the policy is for groups above 10 ppl. Otherwise everything was fresh and delicious."
"Fresh fish in the middle of the desert is tough to come by, so set your expectations accordingly. The sashimi was nothing extraordinary, but still delicious in its own right. At the time of this review, one piece of Otoro nigiri was 18 USD. You also pay for convenience. The waitress made sure we were well taken care of."
"We wanted something before the show at Mirage, and it's conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the theater. We seated right away even though we were 30 minutes early for our reservation. Staffs were attentive. We got our menu, water, and drinks a few minutes after. Our server David answered all of our questions and took our orders. We opted out of ordering entrées and went to few appertizers (gyoza, tempura combo, seaweed salad), robata grill (Sea Bass, scallops and wagyu beef)items and a spider roll. Didn't take long to get our food. Tempura was nice and crispy. The seaweed salad needed a bit of sweet as it was more on the acidic side. Then the roll came. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed by it. It lacks the taste and seems just one note. We loved the sea bass (with mirin glaze) and scallops with some sort of bacon sauce. The wagyu was overcooked. That's why we only gave 4 ☆s."
