"What a great drive. It is paved the entire length and is just outside the town of Ortonville. There is numerous places to stop and bathrooms along the way. Great views of water, prairie and granite outcrops. There is some good hiking along the way along the river valley. Lots of wildlife to see you can spend a quick trip here or many hours."
"A really underrated park. Western Minnesota is a lot prettier than people give it credit for and this park is a great example. There's so many spots in the refuge where it really feels like you've stepped back in time to see the region before all the prairies became farms. It's really fun to see wild cacti growing among all the boulders and prairie."

"It is a beautiful drive. Great scenery. Hundreds of pelicans, egrets and other birds were there to see when we took the drive. A turtle was trying to cross the road and wasn’t real happy to see us!"
