"Dishonest They invented a maintenance issue and cause of leaking for my insurance company so that they could avoid paying out on a claim. This is how it happened: These guys got called out to check on a sliding glass door water intrusion homeowner's insurance claim. I saw them intentionally break the caulking seal of the door plate with a pocket knife, make a gap with the knife, pour water down the gap, then use their high tech gadgetry to track the leaking. Their report said there was a bad caulk bead in the door (maintenance issue = no insurance coverage) that caused the water intrusion."
"First time using ALD and overall a good experience - professional, responsive, and on time. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the high number of touchpoints and phone calls for them to do one service visit. I was probably on the phone with them for 25-30 minutes with all these phone calls. An initial call to schedule, then they called me later to confirm the appointment, and again a few more days later. I called them the day after service to receive the results and their recommendations, but the report was not ready. Then they called me back and held the report hostage until I paid by credit card over the phone. Suggestion - other companies use a text message to reconfirm the appointment, and they send it only once instead of confirming twice. Please collect my billing info on one of the many previous phone calls instead of another call at the end, or allow me to pay online (it's possible through your quickbooks invoice). Will use them again in the future. Thank you"
"I was happy with the service I received on my pool, although it seems a bit expensive (that said they come to you, and he spent 3-4 hours performing the tests). They were upfront about the price, and I was not surprised at billing. I was losing about 1.5 inches of water per day in my 20k gallon vinyl-lined in ground pool (anything > 1 inch is concerning and likely indicates a leak that should be found and repaired. You can also perform a bucket test to account for evaporation vs actual water loss). I'm confident they will find all your leak locations (they may or may not be able to fix them, depending on location, but they will provide referrals and advice). They performed a pressure test on the underground piping, tested the entire vinyl liner for leaks, and inspected/tested all other potential leak locations. In my case they found and patched a leak in one of the skimmers (that I knew about, but hadn't quite repaired properly), and found a leak on the seal between the steps and the pool that could not be patched, that I did not know about. I was able to contact the pool company for repair, on that one. I think it was worth it just to KNOW what your up against and what the solutions are. We were concerned there was failure in the underground pipes (an expensive repair), and it's good to know the piping is sound and to know where I should focus my attention."
"Edit- this is the most sad response from a business. They clearly do not value their customers that are military Veterans that served twice in Iraq. They said they could try to have a pool company come out because they don't fix things. That's not what we were asking of them, we were wanting them to try to put the cover back on that they took off and put it back on incorrectly causing massive amounts of water to get behind our liner. We just wanted them to try to fix what they had already done and survey the damage they caused by putting the skimmer plate back on poorly. They have every excuse in the book as to how they didn't do anything and "tried their best." I don't think that's how business works. We are contacting the MN Attorney General and a lawyer as well as other pool companies to corroborate the damage they caused. Be very wary of hiring this company. Good chance they'll make the problem a whole lot worse. Tens of thousands of dollars in damages because of the way our pool was made. Had these guys come out to figure out a leak in our pool. At no time prior to their coming out had our pool liner separated from the pool wall. After they came out, the pool liner was significantly pulling away from the wall and bubbling out over 1/4 of the pool. I have been trying to replace water in my pool for two hours. I ordered the parts the technician said I needed, but it'll take several days. Whatever the technician did caused the leak to become significantly worse. The company won't send anyone out to fix it or take responsibility for their wrongdoing. We will be contacting a lawyer. This is unbelievable. Would not recommend."
"Pool was leaking, got referred by my pool company. Service was great. The phone consultation was clear and concise and the approval docs were automated so I didn't have to print anything out or scan it back. The service guys were pleasant and informative. They patched the leaks in the pool liner, and explained what they did. The only thing was the price...I thought it was a bit high at $350 +$50 per patch. The whole thing ran me $550, where last year with a different company it was $300 + $10 per patch. Would be 5 stars if cheaper."
