"RUDE FRONT DESK LADY We applied for a dog on there website, we get a call saying that we will have to get him as an ESA because of our weight restrictions at our apartment so the same day will call our therapist to get and ESA by the next day we get the paper and send it to them, they preceded to email us and say we can’t have the dog because if we have a cat we need another dog in the house, it didn’t state on their website any information about this nor did the lady on the phone say we needed another dog all she said is that he needs dog friends with we can provide for him, after we told the lady this we proceeded to get rude emails saying that she did mention this( which she did not) my girlfriend was very upset over this because we wanted to adopt a dog, but this person whoever it was being treated us like we are trash, because they think they have some higher power over us."
"I applied to adopt a dog and was told I couldn’t receive him due to my apartments weight restrictions. understandable. they said i could get an ESA. I went through all these extra steps to do so.They then told me that the dog I applied to adopt for would need another dog in the home besides just my cat. No where on their website did it say the dog wasn’t okay with cats or that I needed to have another dog in my home. there is actually no information about the dog. i found it very frustrating that i had to go through all these additional steps just to get denied for something that was never posted on their website. definitely will not be adopting a dog from here."
"I adopted a beautiful girl, briar, now called Nova, from this shelter! The team helped me pick the perfect cat that fit my home and fit my cats personality. I also volunteered for the shelter and it’s been a great experience!"
"Asked about a cat to be an emotional support animal, the shelter recommended another cat instead. The cat had an eye illness, we were approved to adopt, paid fee, and send home with drops for her eyes. When eye drops were gone and eye infection was still there, we called. They had us come back in for more drops and stated they wouldn’t give us anymore after this. After the second bottle of drops the cat still had the same eye issues. When calling and asking questions, they asked if we had even given them? Also questioned the pictures they’d seen, as if we were just calling to make it up. When we asked about previous vetting information, they didn’t want to share. She developed worse symptoms, but after taking her to a vet, they told us it stemmed from her eye infection. We ended up paying a $200 vet bill to help our cat with an illness they adopted her out with. We love our cat, not her fault, but can’t believe she was adopted out with such an issue. Super disappointed with how they handled this situation. This cat was knowingly adopted out to a college student on a budget. Why they would adopt a sick cat out to a college student I still don’t understand… I recommend looking to adopt animals but I don’t recommend doing it here."
"They always do an amazing job of setting up the adoption papers and they are very detailed orientated! They have great customer service too! I would recommend anybody who wants to adopt to go through the Homeword animal shelter! They make sure that the pet is safe and a match for you and your family! I’ve Adopted two cats from the shelter and I could not imagine my life without them now!"
