Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

"The food here was hit and miss, but what really made our night was the staff! We walked in and it took a minute for my kids and I to decide what we were getting, so we let a few other people go ahead of us. As we contemplated, we could already hear the staff helping the other customers. I couldn't help but notice how upbeat and happy they seemed. A woman in front of me asked about the new street corn, and the person behind the counter jumped at the opportunity to offer her a sample. When we it was our turn, my youngest daughter ordered nachos, and immediately the staff burst out into song, "nacho, nacho man, I want to be a nacho man." The kids loved every second of it, and so did I. I tried the pollo asada and thought it was pretty good. Not restaurant quality, but it's what to be expected going to a quick place to eat. My youngest said her steak was dry but still ate every last bit of it. My oldest got a regular beef buritto and really enjoyed it. Then, as we were packing our leftovers up getting ready to go, an older lady that worked there greeted us a second time.... the first time was singing the nacho song to us as she walked by, but this time to bring us a bag and help take our trays. Overall, I'd definitely go back to this location just for the smiles and wonderful service."

"I used to LOVE this place!! Would come here all the time and always had a great meal and good service! That all STOPPED today! What I have received today was absolutely TERRIBLE service and people that really did not care at all that they gave me the wrong food after I told them multiple times that it was not what I ordered. When I actually asked them to remake it the lady told me to “calm down and that it has been a day”. These people acted like they were giving out food for free and we had to eat what they were willing to give out! I have never experienced ANYTHING like this in my life and I was a server for 10+ years, so I understand that it gets hard, but this was absolutely DISGUSTING! I will never step foot in this place again in my life and will advise other people to take their business elsewhere!! It’s really a shame!"

"Just wanted to tell you that Mitch, one of the servers, is seriously awesome! He's super nice, polite, and works crazy hard. I'm thinking he deserves major props for his customer service skills – he's quick and always cleaning up wherever he goes. Mitch is like a multitasking wizard, doing everything he can for the restaurant. It's pretty cool to see someone who's so on point, even when no one's watching. You guys are seriously lucky to have him on the team!"

"The experience with Cafe Rio on Stephanie Street has been very inconsistent each visit. I kept eating here many various times over the last month or so. I can save everyone the time and say DO NOT have high expectations on getting delivery from them as it will likely always be wrong, incorrectly portioned (much less then in store ordering) and, very disappointing while overpriced. When I do go in person for lunchtime usually the portions are better and the freshness is slightly better. Some visits or orders no matter what can have older lettuce or off tasting ingredients. I did give up on eating from here but hopefully later in the future we can see better management."
