"Second visit and this place still blows my mind, it's amazing. I've had other African cuisine, but the fusion of Senegambian dishes are all so delicious. Enjoyed the oxtail, which includes a lot of big meaty pieces, potato, and carrot. It's served with jollof rice, white rice, or fufu. There are so many appetizer options too! I especially love the atmosphere at Calabash. The music sets the fun and upbeat mood, the bar and lighting is relaxed, and everything is beautiful inside."
"This is a pretty nice restaurant. The vibes in the restaurant was awesome!!! They had some great African music playing the entire time that we were there. I had the oxtail stew with rice, plantains, and a beef and chicken empanada. The plantains were fried a bit too hard. Everything else that I had was very delicious!!! The presentation of the food also looked nice. I went with a group of friends. Some of the other dishes were whole red snapper, peanut butter stew with chicken, a vegetarian dish that had black eye peas and okra in it, and eggs rolls. The first set of eggs rolls that we received, the filling was ice cold. We sent them back for some fresh egg rolls and they were good. We visited at the opening time. When we left which was almost 2 o’clock, the restaurant was packed. The restaurant is located in a plaza. There is a descent amount of parking but the lot fills up pretty quick. The service was a bit slow at the restaurant too, they may be short of help. We only saw two servers during the time frame we were there. I would recommend this restaurant, just don’t go and be in a hurry. The food was pretty good. I will visit again."
"I really enjoyed the red snapper here. It was so flavorful and the jollof rice was great too. I decided to get a strawberry mango calabash margarita and it was really good. The plantains weren’t sweet enough for me and I think it should come with a spicy sauce of some sort. The okra stew was good but wasn’t my favorite out of all of the dishes I had. Maybe I’m too spoiled from Sierra Leone okra stew lol. My friend had the goat pepper soup and it was tasty as well. Service could be a bit better but overall I enjoyed myself and would come again."
"Everything about this place is amazing! My husband and I just moved here for the military last year in November, and we have been eating at this place for almost that amount of time. I always get the peanut butter stew and do the oxtail stew to go, both with fufu! Absolutely delicious!!! Always well seasoned, and tasty! The employees/employers are amazing and welcoming! I can’t remember her name but she must be the manager or owner, she sat with us to explain how her culture eat these meals and it was very insightful she took the time to explain. Overall, don’t skip out on this place! The absolute best African cuisine in Las Vegas! Hands down! Any of my family come in from Ohio, I always take them there. And they all have the same reaction that the food is absolutely delicious!!! Praying for their continuing success! I love this place."
