Laura Jeffrey Academy is a tuition-free public middle school located in the vibrant Mac-Groveland neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota. Our school is dedicated to providing a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for students in grades 5-8. At LJA, we believe that every student matters and we are committed to developing well-rounded scholars with big hearts, bright futures, and the ability to think critically.
Our focus on STEM classes encourages an interest in learning and pursuing careers in the STEM fields. We offer a range of extracurricular activities, including sports teams, running teams, and after-school care programs to support our scholars both academically and personally. Our LGBTQ-friendly middle school celebrates cultural diversity and inclusion in all aspects of school life.

"I have two students at LJA going on their second year, now in Sixth grade. The teachers are extremely engaging, the curriculum includes daily math and STEM lessons, integrated language arts and social studies. The work is very project oriented so the students work collaboratively and explore topics of interest to them within the curriculum. Physical activity every day, wellness, gender inclusivity, and positive friendships have benefitted my kids greatly in this year post-covid. Excellent choice for anyone in grades 5-8 !"
