"My kid is going to Foss. Instructor is kids friendly, making them have trust to get into water and make them feel safe. Easy interactions. Kid loves coming for swim now and no fear at all to swim. Thankful to the instructor and the Foss swim school."
"Yer impressed with the program, staff and facility. The progress in the swimming ability of our granddaughters is amazing. They love to go to lessons. Worth every penny."
"I scheduled and had confirmed class. We show up ready to swim and front desk tells us they have no teacher for our 6 yo. She was heartbroken and had to watch her sister swim without her. This is after I have confirmation of booking class and waited on registration day to get the right time where both kids could swim. Get your act together Foss. You could do better. I’m going to GoldFish."
"Echoing a lot of the other compliments and criticisms here. The good: * The teachers that we had for our kids were great. The program is rigorous but I've seen both of our kids (7, 4) do well for what I would expect at their ages. We have had to repeat classes several times for each of them but I appreciate their attention to detail. * The facility/pool is clean and the water is warm and not too chlorinated. I never felt like my kids were changing in a dirty stall, and they did not get chlorine rashes like has happened with other pools. The bad: * It was difficult to know leading up to evaluation day whether we were going to pass or not. As a parent it wasn't clear what skills were/weren't good enough before then, or even what would be on the test. I think it would have been easier to pass some levels sooner if I knew how to help them practice. * Within the last year, there have been several problems with inconsistent teachers available. One child had a different teacher every lesson, and his upcoming class was dropped altogether due to lack of staff. * I was told at one point that this was the busiest Foss location (in the state? Or all locations? I can't remember for sure) due to it's location in the metro. If they have staff burnout that's understandable, but it is hard to progress with different instruction every time. * Finally, and this is only anecdotal, but we had lots of ear infections last year while swimming at Foss. As soon as we took a break, they stopped. My understanding is that swimming would not cause inner-ear infections, but I would be curious if anyone else experienced similar. In summary: Foss has been a great environment for learning to swim, the instructors have been wonderful, and our experiences with the front-desk staff have always been positive. I'm impressed with the program they have. But they need to figure out how to retain/hire on more instructors to be sustainable."
"Great curriculum. My daughter has become so much more confident in the water and is starting to learn to swim. She’s almost to the point of doing it on her own even. Mr Todd is our favorite instructor but they are all great!!"
