Bear Hollow Cave Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, AR 72714
About the Business
Bear Hollow Cave is located in Bella Vista, Arkansas and is a unique park and tourist attraction. It is one of only three caves in the world known to harbor the endangered cave crayfish. The cave is a karst solution tube with approximately 2,000 feet of passage, most of which is traversed by a cave stream, providing both aquatic and dry habitats.
Owned by The Nature Conservancy, Bear Hollow Cave was donated by Pat and John Cooper, Jr., and Cooper Communities in 1998. The cave has been the focus of conservation efforts, including cleanups to remove garbage and hazardous materials from the area.
Visitors are welcome to explore the cave entrance and surrounding woodlands, but access to the cave interior is restricted to guided field trips and cleanups to protect the fragile karst environment and species that inhabit the cave. Some of the creatures found in Bear Hollow Cave include the endangered cave crayfish, Ozark cavefish, eastern pipistrelle bat, big brown bat, cave crickets, and various species of salamanders.
If you witness any vandalism or trespassing in the cave, please notify the Ozark Highlands Office. Bear Hollow Cave is a fascinating natural wonder that is worth a visit for those interested in conservation and cave ecosystems.

Reviews
"Beautiful place great for a picnic bring the kids go for a hike walk will definitely be back"
"Entrance is gated to prevent entry. The area around is nice and many spring plants are showing their colors. We parked on the side of the gravel road and walk the short distance to the cave. The road is slightly rough and the section near the cave has a few places where I feared bottoming out or high center. The temperature change going down to the entrance is drastic. It was especially noticeable as we walked out. Instantly hot and muggy."
"Neat to see, but the cave has been blocked off to where you cannot go inside the cave. The road to get there has washed out, so we had to park and hike there. We didn't see any water or Crawfish either."
