"Our waiter was great, but the hostesses and bussers tended to, instead of being helpful or welcoming, have an attitude when asked questions like “can I have a sparkling water?” (To someone who just asked if we wanted water or soft drinks), would get annoyed with you and tell you that’s not their job (usually at restaurants they would say, “let me grab your server for that!” Or just be nice about it). The hostesses also tended to just seem irritated with everyone. All of that aside, our waitress was great. The prime rib was tasty. The wine list was awesome, and the ambiance was beautiful. (Minus all of the trailers right outside the window) The buffet was disappointing though. Breakfast is overpriced but it’s a hotel so that’s expected. I think it’s a general theme with the National parks that the formerly nice dining rooms are going downhill, had similar experiences at Crater Lake and Hawaii Volcanoes. It’s sad to see."
"We went in for a drink on a blustery day, bartender was excellent, had one one of their house specials that Identified as chili , but was really a stew While it was very good I would consider DEI has gone to far if allowed to compete in a Chili Cookoff"
"Wasn't open for lunch, so we ate in the bar (loved the food there) but the dining room manager was most accommodating when we asked to go in to take pictures even though he was setting up the buffet for dinner. Gorgeous room; sorry we couldn't stay for dining there."
"Dined for dinner as party of four in 2/2024. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. Everything was very salty. The vegetarian options were very limited and the menu is not accurate - the staff stated the menu posted outside the restaurant is just an example. The only veggie option was mac and cheese and sautéed vegetables. The staff stated they were doing their best with the kitchen in a trailer. Perhaps a discounted price would have been appropriate given their limited buffet and over salted issues because of the trailer kitchen. The staff seemed stressed and understaffed - simple questions were answered with attitude and not politeness. This was our second time dining here; the first time was breakfast in 12/2023 and they charged our room for dinner instead of breakfast ($60/person as opposed to $30/person). Charges were never refunded despite multiple discussions in person with the front desk and on the phone. Overall both dining experiences were uncomfortable. Complete incompetence with payment. These issues don’t make up for the historic ambiance - just enjoy it in the sitting area with the fireplaces, it’s free. Would not eat here again."
"The best dining place to go to while at Yosemite. Amazing food selection. Pricey but worth it. Breakfast and Dinner are the best menu and so worth it. Eggs Benedict’s are perfectly cooked and taste really good. Steak is good and they can customize how you want it to be served. Desserts are great especially the key lime cheesecakes. Overall it’s the best, they gave my son a birthday cupcake. Great service. Bottled wine aren’t bad at all. Been wanting stay here because I remember this is the place where Steve Jobs & Laurene Powell got married in 1991."
