"We recently purchased a new-to-us (used) camper from Minneapolis Trailer Sales. While we love our new camper, we’re disappointed at some of the issues we’ve experienced. The process from the beginning was fairly smooth. We didn’t get to see the camper with the slides out due to us setting an appointment only an hour before we arrived, and it being late February, but we liked what we saw and wanted to buy. We didn’t feel super pressured - there were sales pitches as expected, but not a lot of pressure. “Everything works, we just fixed the entire roof of a slide out, we made sure everything works as it should”, etc were a few phrases we heard more than once. We paid our down payment and waited to hear back from the financing crew during the week on next steps (we viewed the camper on a Saturday). Fast forward to pick up day - the camper is opened up in the shop, freshly washed on the outside….and that’s about it. It was fairly clean inside from the previous owners, but we discovered tons of acorns and mice droppings under/behind the couch and rear bunkhouse futon. We were told it’s “normal” and “easy to clean up” so shouldn’t be a problem. We kind of shook our heads and carried on, as we weren’t given much time to do the walk through. We knew with buying a used camper we would have some minor imperfections/things to be fixed, and we’re experienced campers, so we felt prepared. “Everything works, we just fixed the entire roof of a slide out, we made sure everything works as it should” we heard again. They kicked on the furnace for a few seconds to show that it kicked on, then it was shut off. Also told that the propane tanks were “topped off” so they’re ready to go - they were not topped off, and one was completely empty! We leave with our new purchase, get to our destination and get it opened up, kick on the heat, only to uncover a furnace that was NOT serviced whatsoever. The smell was HORRENDOUS. We fully expected some “smell” as it’s not uncommon when firing up the furnace for the first time after the winter, but this smell was terrible and wouldn’t subside. We discovered mice and squirrel nests/droppings and tons of acorns in the furnace area, as well as tons of insulation pulled in from the critters. The insulation tube piece was completely broken where the insulation comes into the camper to connect to the furnace. The two broken pieces were held together by a small wire from the tubing, and it was attempted to be fixed by taping the two pieces together with duct tape. We ended up spending an entire weekend fixing this issue, pulling apart the underside of the camper to replace the 25ft insulation tube and putting everything back together, as well as cleaning all of the critter messes. Some other issues included: speakers broken, table brackets missing screws, TV didn’t work, previous owners blankets were still packed into storage in the back (clear that the camper hadn’t been gone through), had to dispose of 2 mattresses due to rodent damage. Although minor, these things added to the frustration. Overall, the experience from start to finish was okay - the people were nice and it was a bit better experience than some of our past camper sale experiences, but it seems like they were more focused on bigger sales (like the custom park model homes) than our “small” used camper sale that was big for us. Probably a common theme amongst many other dealers too, but still disappointing nonetheless."
"Last year (2023) we worked with Amy Swanson at MPLS Trailer to purchase our Park Model. It was a pleasure working with Amy from the beginning of our first viewing of a Park Model throughout the process to finalizing the purchase and delivery of it. Amy consistently responded promptly to our numerous questions during this process and worked hard to address the obstacles to getting our Park Model delivered as close as possible to our projected delivery date. She was particularly helpful when determining what features (color scheme/accessories) we picked. We loved her pleasant and humorous personal approach. In additional to our work with Amy, we must also express our appreciation with other MPLS Trailer staff/contractors namely John and Chris who expertly delivered and installed our Park Model including John’s work to attach the Hurricane straps to our cement slab. They did a perfect job leveling, attaching plumbing and electric components, and explaining the accessories of our Park Model. Additionally, Steve provided much needed assistance days after the installation to address questions we had for connecting the gas line and function of the furnace. Lastly, Sarah continues to be helpful with some follow-up actions we outlined after the final installation as well. We highly recommend anyone to reach out to Amy at MPLS Trailer for any interest they have in Park Models. Eugene & Laurie Sublett"
"We just purchases our first new Destination Trailer from Amy and this place is great. From the purchasing process to delivery they did a great job. The delivery guys definitely had their work cut out for them with the tear down and removal of our old trailer but they got it done. Will definitely purchase from them again."
"We went in with a bigger trailer in mind but CJ was great and showed us the one that was perfect for our family and had a great layout. The whole process was so easy and we definitely walked away super happy!"
"Very good process working with CJ here. He helped in every step and was knowledgeable to all my questioning and helpful in making sure my destination trailer was available for pick up when I was able to run out there and get it all the way from OLYMPIA WASHINGTON. Very happy with my purchase, exactly as photographed!"
