Popeye Garden

"Nice little park, had some benches for sitting. Lots of flowers blooming when we stopped by. Took our fur baby for a walk down the street checking out the old buildings. The mural was cool to imagine how the Main Street was at one time. Grew up watching Popeye. Found on roadside attractions. "I stopped by here to see the Popeyw statue and was pleasently suprised by the wrll maintained landscape. Alma has or had not sure which a spinish canning factory, hence Popeye. There is no othere Popeye people here. There are three gezebos here and a city streat mural on the wall. Lots of flowers. Free to enter."

"Downtown Alma is almost 100% vacant but has the bones to be a walkable downtown. It's clean, interesting buildings, a population. This vest-pocket park is neat, well kept and the fountain was flowing. Popeye stands as a testament to WWII glory days of spinach industry. Not sure what's the current status."

"Gorgeous place for a nice sit down or picnic. The garden from the plush grass to the flowers is very well kept. There is a convenience store across the street to get ice cream or drinks."
