"Such a beautiful display. We enjoyed the place and we're interested in the historical aspect"
"Lady in the office was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The war displays and memories were really neat and informative. Was cool to see the excellent nature photography. Wish we would have purchase a print though.. oh well reason to go back and visit again!"
"Beautiful photo gallery featuring Jim Brandenburg, one of National Geographic's most famous photographers and recipient of the extremely rare NatGeo Lifetime Achievement Award. Jim is originally from Luverne MN and still lives in Minnesota today. The gallery is nice and features his photos (all of which can be purchased, or prints of be purchased) spread across the main floor and the finished basement. The building the gallery is in is to the left of the County Courthouse. There are no signs on the building or door. When you walk in, it first feels like a mix of VFW (veteran history museum is upstairs) and local chamber of commerce. Walk past that to enter the gallery from the courthouse parking lot. Only other thing is I wish the gallery featured more variety of his photos from around the world, not just the local prairies on the main floor and most the north-woods in the basement. Admission Cost: Free Parking is free and ample."
"We really enjoyed the military muesum. I learned quite a bit. I loved how they highlighted every war from the Civil War to Operation of Iraqi Freedom. Everything from Mail Call to IED's. Best military muesum I've seen that wasn't on a actual military base. I also loved Brandenburg's photographs they were beautiful. What an eye he had for nature!"
"An amazing little gallery with friendly staff and amazing photos of nature. The 2nd and 3rd floors is the military museum which you should definitely walk through. It covers almost all the wars with interesting memorabilia as well as things donated by local veterans. Just don't be spooked by the mannequin camping out in the 3rd floor lol! Definitely worth the stop."
